Annual Day is among one of the most awaited event for parents, especially for ones who have young children, just spreading their wings and taking their first step towards becoming independent young adults. Young students of St. Thomas School Pre Primary section from Classes Nursery to I showcased their talent during the annual day celebrated here today. Vandana Bhagra, Editor, KEEKLI Newspaper graced the occasion with her presence as chief guest. The day started with the warm reception of chief guest by School Principal Vidhupriya Chakravarty and little students by presenting her a bouquet, which was followed by an annual report by Principal.
Little students displayed their talent in dances on songs like Beautiful Day; Step on the Floor; Dil Hai Chota Sa and a Phari Natti; and a solo dance performance. The highlight of the show was a play titled “Pipe Piper of Hamelin” that showcased the talent of young students and a fashion show that exhibited the cool attitude of little ones, which won them a huge applause.
While addressing the audiences the chief guest lauded the efforts put in by the students and teachers and said, “Each and every child gave an amazing performance today and the sheer confidence shown by them is the reflection of the amount of effort, sincere commitment and energy put in not just by these little participants but also of the school management and the teachers, who get such small children to perform on the stage so beautifully. They all should be appreciated on account of getting such young children to perform as emphasis is also laid on hundred per cent participation of the students. The inculcation of good moral values at an early stage through right education and a balance of good co-curricular activities are necessary for their grooming, which leads to the overall development of the child. Children are like clay and it is essential to give them proper direction and mould them in way that they become good citizens of the society”. She further appreciated the role played by St. Thomas School as an educational institute that has been shaping lives of many students since its establishment.
The day concluded with honoring of the chief guest and vote of thanks proposed by school head girl.
