BSN_30.5.15bThe senior section of Bal Shiksha Niketan High School comprising of classes eight to ten were addressed by Rajesh Tomar,  Additional District & Sessions Judge (II), Shimla, on the uses and abuses of tobacco. School Principal Kalpana Sharma said that this discussion was arranged as per the directive of the Supreme Court by the law and the health department to apprise the student of the evils of tobacco use. She added that with changing times it is important to guide the children towards the correct path and necessary to make them understand how tobacco use can affect their lives and that of their parents. By educating childreBSN_30.5.15cn we also in turn sown their minds with seeds of change, and the same thought process is then shared with their families and friends.

During the orientation the students were advised by Judge Tomar to stay away from drug and to channelize their energy by participating in sports activities or doing Yoga. They were also instructed to do 21 rounds of Surya Namaskar. The health official appreciated the zeal and enthusiasm of the students and the school management to work strongly towards banishing such evil causes affecting our society.
