Auckland House for BoysAnnual functions are the most awaited event of the year for any parent, not only for the fact that his / her child may or may not get an award but to see him / her perform on the stage. The enthusiasm and passion with which the children perform on stage is a reflection of their innocence and purity at heart. The management and staff of Auckland House for Boys zealously presented the Senior Section Annual Day, with of course some commendable performances by the boys. The chief guest for the morning was Dr Namrata Tiku, Principal Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, who was warmly greeted by School Principal Micheal A John, Director-Principal Sunita John, Senior Department Coordinator Meenakshi Thakur and Upper Primary Department Coordinator Alka Sharma.

The morning began with a hymn ‘God is Dwelling in My Heart’, followed by an English play titled ‘Murder at Merryweather Mansion’, which was marvelously enacted by the senior boys. What followed next were melodious songs by the Junior and Senior Choir, and instrumental music by Tanmay Sareen and Piyush.

Next performance was an upbeat tribal dance which left the parents wanting for more, and more did they get with the hilarious age-old classic Hindi play titled ‘Andher Nagari Chaupat Raja’, which left the parents laughing. The Harmonium performance by Aditya Pathak of Form 8 and Tabla by Antarikshdeep Singh left the audience spellbound.

The highlight of the event was a fusion dance comprising of Natti, Chambyali and Bhangra on the song ‘Shape of You’, which was an instant hit with the parents who applauded loudly for their wards and felt the energetic beats themselves. The AUCKTET School Band enthralled one and all with their vivacious and lively performance.

The chief guest was all praises about the performances of the boys and said that parents should spend more time with their children and should have a more friendly relationship with them. She also emphasized that when children indulge in vices like smoking, it is not a fashion statement rather they should express themselves more creatively.

Principal John lauded the efforts of the staff and the students for making this event a grand success. The day ended on a high note as prizes were awarded to the meritorious students.
