Manju Sood

An Arts graduate and with a Diploma in Kathak Dance Mrs Manju Sood has been a passionate human being while teaching with a motto of serving humanity and helping the needy and poor. Her fanatical interest in dancing, music, writing and poetry has been the guiding lights for her 25 years of teaching experience. Sonal Sood

With over 13 years experience in teaching Mrs Sonal Bhoil has won many accolades such as the International Avantika Award. Being the HOD of the Social Science Department she is also the editor of her school magazine, in-charge of the examination wing as well as the CCE master trainer. She has been especially appointed by the CBSE Board to check examination papers for Social Science.

Ram Gopal Sood

President, Rotary, Mid Town Shimla



A Graduate in Arts, Mr Ram Gopal has always had an enthusiastic interest in sports. Beginning as a cricket captain of SDB College in 1973, he was also the sports secretary of DAV School. As the champion of Billards and Snooker he represented Himachal Pradesh in Nationals for nearly 15 years, which also gained him the position of the Honourable Secretary of Billiards.

Association for eight years from 1987 to 1994. As an active member of the Rotary Mid Town Shimla, he takes over as the President of the Club for the year 2013-2014. He is well recognized in the business circles too as he is the President of Lakkar Bazar Business Association. With a keen interest in music, cricket and snooker, serving humanity is closest to his heart.

Raj Gopal Sud

Retired, Deputy Director Horticulture, Shimla

An Edwardian, Mr Raj Gopal Sud did his B.Sc (Agriculture) specialization in Pomology (1974) and soon joined the Department of Horticulture, Himachal Pradesh in 1975 as the Horticulture Inspector, Dharampur, Distt. Mandi and thereafter served in various capacities at Development Block, Chopal; and as Deputy Director Horticulture (East Zone) Shimla. He also delegated his duties as the Subject Matter Specialist, Directorate of Horticulture and Model Floriculture Centre, Mahogbag (Chail) before finally retiring as the Deputy Director Horticulture, Shimla after putting in almost 35 years of service.

Floriculture has been his forte for almost 20 years where he motivated growers of the state

to take up flower cultivation as a commercial venture. He has been an active organizer of the Flower Shows held at state level since 1994 . Mr Sud also provides expertise in the judging of the Shimla Annual Flower Shows organized by Shimla Amateur Garden and Environment Society (SAGES) and Sood Sabha Shimla. He has represented Himachal Pradesh in the International Flora held at New Delhi and Pune and won the Third Prize for the HP State in Booth display category.

Sarika Singh

Author, Poet and Teacher

A teacher and trainer for creative writing (encompassing its various genre), Sarika Singh is blessed with a creative mind, with a natural flair for training and communicating with children. Always spellbound by the power of language and ink, she has been penning her thoughts since early days. Her passion for literature since childhood and lack of availability of scripted lessons to enhance creative in writing has motivated her to conduct writing workshops for children; a drive she has been pursuing since year 2000. Her ‘grammar-skills’ workshops are also appreciated by one and all. She believes that creative writing is not only therapeutic but also improves a child’s overall writing ability and opens him to a world of self expression.

A management professional, having completed her Business English from University of Cambridge, she is currently based in New Delhi.

She has also worked in the editorial wing of Encyclopaedia Britannica & is an active member of Poetry Society Australia; Poet & Critic; Association of Writers and Illustrators for Children; Sahitya Akademi; Italian Culture Center; The Indus Entrepreneurs, etc. She has authored a series of tutorial books called ‘Poetry Writing Made Simple- Book I & II’ by a leading publisher of educational books. Apart from her studio in New Delhi, her creative writing workshops are held frequently at India Habitat Center, British Council, Italian Cultural Center, various Consulates and quite a few schools and organizations.

Vijay Kumar Sharma

A software professional, Mr Vijay Sharma manages the quality of product deliveries of consumer software's in ADOBE. With over eight years of strong experience in Software Quality Management and he has worked on a diverse portfolio of software solutions in different domains. Populary known among friends as VJ, he is also an acclaimed Photographer and Digital Imaging Consultant.

He is the founding member of Photography related communities PHOTO JOURNEY and Indian Lightroomers. He hails from Himachal and having been brought up amidst imposing natural beauty of the Himalayas his desire to capture its beauty led to an interest in photography.

He has since then honed his skills through a professional photography course and intense practice. Apart from nature photography, he also dabbles in architecture, product, and sports photography. VJ is also Adobe Certified Expert in Lightroom and has been actively working with different organizations in India to take workshops on Lightroom, HDRs, Color Management and Black&White processing.

Simar Onkar

An MBBS graduate from Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla in 1997 and a PG degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Kamla Nehru State hospital for Mother & Child, IGMC, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India in 2010, Dr Alok is dedicatedly working as a Registrar in the same Institution. He is the Founder Secretary of the Indian Menopause Society, Shimla Chapter and Indian Fertility Society – Himachal Pradesh Chapter. He is the National Coordinator of Sexual Medicine Committee of Federation of Obstetricians and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) and North Zone Coordinator of Perinatology, Safe Motherhood, MTP and Young Talent Promotion Committee FOGSI. He was the Treasurer of Indian Medical Association - Shimla Chapter.

Dr Alok has attended 39 conferences as Faculty; 28 as Delegate and 19 Workshops as National Faculty. He is an active member of various academic and professional bodies. He has published many articles in various National and International journals. He is not only active clinically but is also performing his duties for the upliftment of women in the society.
