Wins All India Final Golf Championship

aadil-(2)Aadil Bedi made his City proud by winning the All India Junior Golf Championship at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) Kolkata. Aadil got a brilliant start and shot 71 on very tight and lengthy coarse at Kolkata and took a lead not only in the B category but he gave a good run to AB category too for first three days. At last Aadil tied with Manav with four day score of 71, 73, 73 and 77, i.e. 294 for playoffs in B category (under 14 year), which he won by nailing 7 iron from 165 yard to the pin. He also finished tied 2nd runner up in AB combined category (under 18 year). With this win, Aadil’s point tally went to 356, which won him the All India Merit 2015 with a massive margin.

Aadil started IGU circuit at very young age. Although he started playing golf from the age of four, he has already topped the IGU Circuit in D category at the age 10 in year 2011, the feat he repeated in C category in year 2013. This is his 3rd winning of Merit of the year released by Indian Golf Union.

Aadil played 10 matches in IGU Circuit and this was his 4th win. Earlier he won the Southern India in June at Eagleton Golf Resort Bangalore, Telengana Junior at Hyderabad, Eastern India last week at Tollygung Golf Course Kolkata. He remained runners up at the Western India Junior at Pune. Four runners up positions were also highlight of the domestic season. He also managed to get four runners up in AB combined category in domestic season including All India final and Eastern India Last Week. Aadil said, “I have had a very success year so far. My trophy bar medals and trophies increases from 125 last year to145 this year”.

Aadil went to USA for world cup and finished 7th in World Junior Masters at Las Vegas in July 2015. Not only this he also won the Amateur Golf Championship at Brisbane Australia conducted by Queensland Golf Federation Australia. Aadil said, “I will be moving to A category next year. I need to improve my fitness to compete at world cup in USA next year”.

Aadil is also part of ONGC Golf Team, which plays National Petroleum games. At present Aadil says that his performance went up by using Mizuno golf set.

CSR Reddy, President CGA expressed his happiness over city teenager’s achievement and said, “We will look after Aadil’s lodging and boarding in next World Cup at USA apart from support from the golf range”.
