mathew1As a part of the schools extra activity, students of Auckland House Girls School celebrated their Mathew House Day. While speaking on the occasion Director Principal Sunita John said, “It was a great pleasure to see our students doing so well on the cultural front. It was a treat to watch them perform like that and I hope that they continue to grow and excel in their future”. During the event various cultural programs were staged right from dance to plays in which students of various classes participated.

Various cultural items that were staged during the show which enlighten and entertained the staff and all the other students present to view the gala event. The morning began with the Opening Hymn, in which Cana Yepthoni, Sarita, Sunita,  Sagrika Kalta, Muskaan Verma, Arzoo Shyam, Vadini Prashad, Vani Sharma, Agatha, Parnaz, Shehnaz Khosla, Kalta Verma from Class IX to XII participated. An English play titled  “Play Ten Years Old Detective” was equally engaging and interesting as students of Classes IX to XII participated in it, namely, Inayat Gill, Arusheta Kashyap, Prajakti Gupta, Prakriti Prerna Bedi, Sehaj Kiran Sembi and Pragya Chainta.

mathew2With a small filler by Glory Kaushik and Muskan Chauhan, the Puppet Dance was yet another treat for the students as Aastha Kanwar, Harshika Thakur, Angelina Noor, Shivangi Kaushik, Muskan Sharma, Anusha, Choesam, Yashsvi Gupta, Anjali Sharma, Shruti Sayal, Arohi, Palak and Pushpangi very gracefully performed the act. Cana Yepthoni, Sunita Raina, Muskan Raj, Harmohanjeet Beer, Shehnaz Khosla, V. Lalremruati and Jaya Radhtka Aggarwal sung a very melodious song, while Srishti Sharma, Sunyana Kaundal, Ananya Sood,  Soshimla, Ayushika Kalta, Bhavreen Kaur, Tamanna,  Lavanya Sharma, Supriya Sood, Vipluv Thakur, Vasundhara Kohli and Samiksha Gill danced on a famous Bollywood number “Boojh Mera Kya Naam Re”. The Hindi Musical by Kanika Chauhan, Shreya Gupta, Arushi Sharma, Kanika, Priyaniali, Ayushi, Prerna Negi, Antrisha, Shreeya, Prachi Verma, Jasmine Verma, Priyanka Sharma, Seial Thakur, Kanishka Chauhan among other was another attraction for the morning.

The other highlight of the day were an illusion dance, fan dance, and the disco dance. In each performance the students out did their predecessor and received huge applause from all present. The Girls Band too — V. Lalremruati, Arzoo Shyam, Cana Yepthoni, Sagrika Kalta and Sunita Raina — sung graciously and enticed the viewers.

The day ended on a positive note with a message that life is too short and should be spent without regretting. Each challenge that life throws back on us, is to be taken with a smile and we all should always put our best foot forward !!!
