A thrilling performance was given by the girls of middle section of Auckland House School as they presented their annual cultural event. Gracing the occasion was Principal Shimla Public School, Anu Sharma, who was mesmerised by the amazing show put up by the girls. The morning began by the lighting of lamp by the chief guest along with Director Principal Sunita John, Principal Auckland Boys School Micheal A John, Rev Sohan Lal and UPD Coordintor Sonu Sood, followed by a hymn “Ten Thousand Reasons”.

The musical “Flowers of the Nations” introduced the audience to the colourful world of flowers, as cutely dressed beauties stepped on the stage representing different flowers, namely, Rose of England; Tulip of Holland; Lotus of India; Pomegranate of Spain; Narcissus of China; Shamrock of Ireland; Chrysanthemum of Japan; White Lily of Italy and American Beauty Rose. The Keepers of the Garden had a tough time selecting the future Queen, as they all looked marvellous.

Next presentations were a few foot tapping folk dance numbers – Marathi and Haryanvi – interspersed with melodious songs by the Choir girls. The Hindi play was a powerful presentation as the students shared an important message to save water and save our environment. In the greed and ambition to become rich, man today uses any means to achieve his target. Destroying our natural resources being one of the biggest mistakes man is making, thus endangering the lives for our future generations. The message was loud and clear – keep your surroundings clean, don’t waste instead save water and grow lots of tress. The finale of the event was with a fabulous western dance performance by the girls. (CLICK TO VIEW ALL VIDEOS)

Principal John addressed the audience and enlightened all as she read the annual report outlining the activities and academic achievements of the girls. She emphasized that focus was given to the all round development of the students and it was ensured that kids got an opportunity to participate in one or the other activity.

The chief guest was all praises about the hard work and brilliant performances of girls. She lauded the efforts of the management and the teachers for the beautiful presentation and shared a deep message with the parents. She said, “Teachers don’t just make individuals, but they educate generations. We should understand that the perseverance and diligence shown by the teachers to teach our children is worthy of our respect and due credit should be given to them rather than being critical at every step.” She further added that parents should spend quality time with their kids as it is important for their overall growth and development to become good citizens.

The days ended on a cheery note as students were rewarded for their academic excellence.
