The Annual Sports Day is a major and much anticipated event of any school as Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Bhattakuffar in collaboration with Vidya Bharti Education Organisation, celebrated their sports day in a feisty ambience in the school premises here today. The chief guest for the event was Head of Cha Yana Panchayat, Prem Thakur, who declared the meet open by unfurling the flag. Encouraging their wards, parents turned up for the event to support and boost the morale of their children. School Principal Balvir Naarta was present on the occasion to cheer the students. Sports Day is a significant event in the life of every school going child and sports itself has a vital role in making a child physically as well as mentally strong.

The sports day began with impressive games which were organised exclusively for the junior wing. The students of the senior section showed their skills and agility in games like Kho Kho and Kabbadi. The students who had been placed into four different houses namely Kaveri, Aravalli, Godavari and Vidhyanchal, were filed with a sense of house spirit and performed brilliantly in various sporting events.

The results for the events were as follows, Vidhyanchal House was the overall champions. Kabbadi boys team stood first from Vidhyanchal House while girls team from Aravalli House stood first. The girls Kho Kho team from Godavari House stood first and Kaveri House was second, among boys team Kaveri House was first and Vidhyanchal House was second.

After completion of the athletic events, the proud winners were honoured by the chief guest with medals and certificates. The winners gained praises and appreciation as the air was filled with the sound of thunderous applause from all present on the ground.

The chief guest expressed his happiness after looking at the hard work of the students and sais, “I am surprised to see the discipline maintained by the students on the field and a sense of competitiveness that they have. I feel blessed to be among such beautiful children and I thank Principal Balvir for giving me this opportunity to be a part of such a spectacular event. I want to congratulate all the participants for performing exceptionally well. All the students have shown true sportsman spirit which is the most important thing in making an athletic meet a success. I wish each and every one all the best for their future”.

Principal Balvir said, “I would like to thank the chief guest for taking time out from his busy schedule to be with us today, his mere presence has amplified the energy level of the students. I would like to take this opportunity to mention that how our students are not only excelling in sports but also in academics. Recently class 10th board results were announced, in which our students have scored tremendously well. Amit Chandel scoring 662 out of 700 topped this year. In the end, I would like to thank the Principal of SVM, Him Rashmi Parishar, Mahavir Verma for being here today and all my teachers including Dev Krishan Sharma, Sita Ram, Reenu Thakur, Anita Chandel, Shikha Sharma, Madhu Kapoor and Poonam Thakur for helping out these students and teaching them the importance of sportsmanship on the ground”.
