Success is not final; failure is not fatal; It is the courage to continue that counts showed students of Loreto Convent Tara Hall here today as they celebrated their Annual Sports Day.

Based on the theme of “Urjatsav” – celebration of energy flow, the students presented a wonderful example to prove that as long as the energy in an individual is flowing till that point you are a magical being who is capable of achieving anything in life else there is a complete emptiness. Students from six different houses presented a remarkable show that captivated the spectators and took them back to time where they themselves were children.

The day started by welcoming of the Chief Guest Sanjeev Gandhi, a man well known as a hardworking and honest police officer who took drug menace seriously, graced the occasion with his presence.

Usually sports day are considered to be a day where one might get to see few races, PT displays and the March Past but this day was filled with not only aforesaid activities but even dance, Zumba and aerobics added colour to the day. Children proved that fattiness is not just about exercise but any activity that adds to the flow of energy is a thing to be celebrated as the real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won’t. It’s whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere as success isn’t just about what you accomplish in your life; it’s about what you inspire others to do. Nearly eight hundred students participated in the event and showcased their physical strength in different races like flat, skipping, balance, dogging and passing the ball to name some. Each race came with a message that one can easily relate to life, may that be of significance of team work or balancing the book on the head, the same way to balance between our success and failures in life yet never lose composure. Students also presented a wonderful Yoga display along with Karate and gymnastics.

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired and success achieved.

Speaking on the occasion Sanjeev said, “It was a wonderful experience and the lesson I learned from you all today is that we should always take a start early in life so that we can cope up with the difficulty well in time before we accomplish our goals in life.”

“We need to stay focused and no matter what, never give up on our dreams and aspirations, no matter how distant they may appear to be. Some people dream of success while others wake up and work, so remember it is your time to work,” he added further.

School Principal, Sister A. Nirmala said, “I am grateful to the teachers as well as students who have made this day a big success. They all have been so supportive and as a result we all have been able to put up a grand show.” She further appreciated the handwork of all and stressed on the need to work as a team in future as well as so that there is nothing which might seem difficult or is impossible to attain.
